My Brother Was Nearly Taken by Organ Harvesters—Here's What Saved Him

 

An engineer has recounted a harrowing experience in which his younger brother was kidnapped by organ traffickers masquerading as police officers.

According to him, the incident took place while his brother was in a Bolt ride in Port Harcourt. Armed men intercepted the vehicle, forcefully pulled his brother out, and attempted to transport him to Bayelsa State.

The men only released his brother after discovering a surgical scar on his body. Realizing he had undergone kidney surgery, they decided not to proceed but still extorted him before letting him go.

The engineer shared the disturbing experience on X, posting:

"I just received an almost sad news from Nigeria."

"Organ harvesters disguised as police officer kidnapped my brother off his bolt ride and tried to take him to bayelsa from Portharcourt."

"The stopped the bolt ride and forced my brother out of it. Holding him by his shorts and hitting him with the base of their rifle."

"The bolt driver continued following behind and when the driver tried to raise alarm, the kidnappers put bullets in his tires."

"My brother’s hands were tied and several slaps were dished out to him in the back seat of their sienna."

"They took control of his phones and scrolled through his photos."

"He had pictures of a recent surgery he had just done and when they saw it, they asked him what happened there. He told them he had kidney failure and he’s managing his kidney. They said 'so your organs no deh work well', he said yes, he’s been managing it for seven years now."

"They stopped the vehicle immediately, discussed amongst themselves and decided to let him off."

"The took his Atm card, withdrew his 80k, gave him 3k and his phone and told him to call his bolt driver to pick him up."
