The President gave this assurance during a public event held in Abuja on Tuesday, May 13, where he was represented by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.

During his speech, the Minister, speaking on behalf of President Tinubu, acknowledged that many Nigerians have expressed their dissatisfaction and frustration with some of the decisions and reforms introduced by his administration. However, the President wants Nigerians to know that he is committed to long-term progress, not short-term popularity.

“The president welcomes constructive criticism at all times in the spirit of freedom of speech and democratic engagement, but he will also never allow himself to be distracted from doing what is right for Nigeria,” the minister said.

According to him, everyone has the right to speak up, to question policies, and to express their views—especially in a democratic country like Nigeria.
