JAMB Wahala: Girl Who Scored 311 in 2024 Now Gets 148?

A 2025 UTME result is causing serious buzz online after a once high-flying student ended up with a surprisingly low score.

Education expert and advocate, Alex Onyia, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the shocking result of a student named Michael Inemisit Uduak, who scored just 148 this year. According to the breakdown, she got:

  • 35 in Use of English

  • 41 in Physics

  • 35 in Biology

  • 37 in Chemistry

What shocked many people was how different this year’s result is from her previous performances. Uduak had scored 281 in 2023 and an impressive 311 in 2024. So this year’s result has raised eyebrows.

Alex Onyia openly questioned the result, saying it doesn’t make sense. “Last two years she scored 281 in JAMB, last year she scored 311, and this year she is scoring 148. This is impossible,” he wrote. “JAMB needs to let these students see their mark sheet to review their results themselves.”

Many Nigerians on social media are also expressing doubts. Some are wondering how a top student could suddenly drop so low. Others are pointing fingers at possible system errors or mistakes in how the results were processed.

The situation has also brought up a bigger issue — the pressure students face to study medicine or other competitive courses. Some people feel students like Uduak are forced to keep rewriting UTME to secure limited spots, which adds even more stress.

This trending issue has once again brought JAMB under public scrutiny. Many are calling for more transparency and asking that students be allowed to properly review their scores. It’s also a reminder of how emotionally draining these entrance exams can be for young Nigerians.
