Tragic Attack in Dachindo Village, Plateau: Two Men Killed in Suspected Herdsmen Ambush

 

At least two individuals have been brutally attacked and killed by unidentified assailants believed to be herdsmen in Dachindo village, located within the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. This unfortunate incident occurred late Tuesday night, May 13, 2025, shaking the local community and raising serious security concerns in the region.

The victims have been identified as Linus Davou and Tunde Daylop. According to information gathered, both men were ambushed and killed while they were returning from Hwot Village. Eyewitnesses and local sources revealed that the attack took place around 9:48 p.m., catching the victims off guard on their way back home.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama provided insight into the sequence of events following the attack. Makama explained that at approximately 10:30 p.m., a distress call was received from the Commander of the local Hunters Association. The commander reported the attack and requested immediate assistance.

In response to the call for help, Nigerian Army troops, alongside other combined security forces, were promptly deployed to the scene to secure the area and investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack. Their quick intervention led to the recovery of the victims’ lifeless bodies.

The bodies of Linus Davou and Tunde Daylop were carefully evacuated and transported to the General Hospital in Riyom. There, they are undergoing official documentation and further investigations to shed more light on this tragic event and bring the perpetrators to justice.
