Katsina Youths Massacred, Community Mourns 20 Lost Lives
Tafoki, Katsina — Hundreds of residents converged in Tafoki, Faskari Local Government Area, on Wednesday to mourn over 20 young lives brutally cut short by suspected bandits.
According to SaharaReporters, the attackers stormed the community, moving from house to house, shooting indiscriminately and setting homes ablaze, leaving families devastated and residents fleeing in terror.
The tragic incident comes barely months after a controversial peace deal was reportedly struck with bandit groupsin the area. Despite promises of security, violence returned, claiming lives and leaving scores injured.
Families continue to search for missing loved ones as the community struggles to process the scale of the massacre. Many survivors sustained gunshot wounds during the attack, underscoring the continued vulnerability of rural communities to banditry in Katsina State.
