Manchester United Set to Trigger Victor Osimhen’s €75m Release Clause After Reaching Agreement in Principle
Manchester United are poised to activate Victor Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, having reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with the Nigerian forward over a potential summer move.
According to Tuttosport, the Red Devils have already settled on basic salary terms with Osimhen’s representatives and are prepared to meet the buyout clause in his Napoli contract. United manager Ruben Amorim is eager to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season.
Osimhen, 26, has been in exceptional form during his loan spell at Turkish giants Galatasaray, netting 30 goals and supplying seven assists in just 35 appearances across all competitions.
The Super Eagles striker was heavily linked with a Premier League switch last summer, with both Manchester United and Chelsea showing strong interest. However, he ultimately joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.
Should United finalize the deal, it could prompt a reshuffle in their frontline. Reports suggest Rasmus Hojlund may be included in the transfer, potentially heading to Napoli as part of the agreement.
The Danish forward has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford this season, scoring only eight times in 45 appearances.
