JAMB Withholds Results of 39,834 Candidates Amid Exam Scandal
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that it withheld the results of 39,834 candidates out of the more than 1.9 million applicants who sat for the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made this announcement on Friday, May 9, during the official release of the 2025 UTME results.
He clarified that these results were withheld due to issues related to examination irregularities.
Additionally, Oloyede shared that out of the 41,000 underage candidates who registered for the exam, 467 met the required minimum score. However, 50 candidates were involved in a cheating scandal.
This development comes amid reports that 80 suspects across the country are currently under investigation for examination fraud.
