Rescued from Trafficking: 2-Year-Old Girl Saved by NAPTIP in Aba

A 2-year-old girl, identified as Chiamaka Favor (alias), who was trafficked from Abuja to Aba in February 2025, has been successfully rescued by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The rescue operation took place on May 8, 2025, when NAPTIP’s Abia State Command located the child.

In a statement released on Friday, May 9, NAPTIP confirmed that the suspected trafficker was apprehended by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abia and subsequently handed over to NAPTIP for further action.

The trafficker is believed to have worked with three other trafficking syndicates from Abuja and sold the child for N100,000.

NAPTIP is now appealing to the public for help in locating the child’s biological parents.

“Investigations are ongoing. NAPTIP is urging the biological parents or any relatives of the child to immediately reach out to the Agency,” the statement added.
