“These Results Are Not Ours”: Nigerian Students Cry Out Over 2025 JAMB Exam Scores
The 2025 JAMB UTME results have ignited a storm of controversy and heartbreak across Nigeria. Thousands of students who sat for the exams are taking to social media to express outrage and disbelief at scores that starkly contrast their expectations and previous performances.
At NaijaRush, we’ve received direct complaints from several students—many of whom had high hopes for this year, especially those who had done exceptionally well in previous JAMB sittings. But to their shock, the 2025 results have painted an entirely different picture.
“I Know How My Exam Went” — A Cry of Frustration
One user on X (formerly Twitter), @ridwanbalogun69, posted:
"I wrote JAMB last year and scored 294 but didn't apply for admission. I wrote this year with greater determination and well I can confidently say that this 2025 result isn't mine. I wrote on Monday 28th. They told me I had 161. I just can't accept that, knowing how my exam went."
This sentiment is echoed by many students who have reached out to us or shared their stories online.
Open Letter to JAMB: A Collective Plea
A particularly powerful response came from a student named Busayo Ayeoyenikan, who published an open letter to JAMB on X, which has since gone viral. Here's an excerpt:
"We are deeply concerned about the unusually low scores released this year. Many of us who have consistently scored between 230 and 310 in previous UTME attempts — despite less intense preparation — dedicated even more effort and sleepless nights to this year’s exam... It is shocking and disheartening to now see scores like 138, 145, 134, and 150."
"We respectfully urge @JAMBHQ to investigate this anomaly and recheck the results, so that a possible technical error does not cost thousands of dedicated students their future. It would be unfair for us to lose a whole academic year over what may have been an unintended mistake."
NaijaRush's Position: Redo the Exam for All Affected Candidates
Based on the volume of disturbing reports, we at NaijaRush believe that this is more than an isolated incident—it is a systemic failure that demands urgent attention.
We strongly recommend that the Federal Government and JAMB cancel the current 2025 UTME results and offer students a chance to rewrite the exam. This is the only fair and transparent path forward.
A generation of young Nigerians cannot be made to suffer due to possible technical errors or flaws in the result processing system. These students deserve fairness, clarity, and a real shot at their future.
