Tinubu’s Cabinet Heads to London to Showcase 2-Year Achievements — Wike, Umahi, Tunji-Ojo, Others to Speak at Global Press Conference
Some of the most influential members of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet are set to travel to London, United Kingdom, for a high-profile international press conference where they will speak to the global community about the achievements and progress made by the Tinubu administration in its first two years in office.
According to a formal announcement made on Tuesday in Abuja, this international event is being organized to provide a detailed and transparent overview of the midterm performance of the current administration. The announcement was delivered by Bode Adeyemi, who serves as the Project Internal Coordinator of the President Bola Tinubu Midterm Legacy Projects Review Committee.
In his words, Bode Adeyemi explained that the press conference is part of a strategic communication effort aimed at “highlighting the administration’s successes across various sectors within its first 24 months in office.”
Top government officials who will be representing Nigeria at the conference include some of the most vocal and visible members of Tinubu’s team. Among them is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, known for his bold and controversial approach to governance, as well as the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, who has been actively involved in the massive road infrastructure projects ongoing across the country.
Also on the list is the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who has been praised for his reforms in the passport issuance system and other internal affairs. The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Gbenga Komolafe, will also be part of the delegation. He is expected to speak on the progress and investment climate in the oil and gas sector.
Furthermore, the Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Usman Osidi, will be present to highlight the administration’s efforts in providing affordable housing solutions to Nigerians. Representing Nigeria’s tax and revenue reforms, the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacheous Adedeji, will also address the audience.
This press conference is expected to gather not just Nigerians in the diaspora, but also foreign investors, international media houses, and development partners who are interested in Nigeria’s current direction under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu. It will provide a platform to speak directly to the international community about what the administration claims it has achieved — and what it still hopes to accomplish in the remaining years.
The idea, according to organizers, is to build trust, attract investment, and correct what they describe as “misinformation” or “underreporting” of the administration’s efforts in both local and international media. The conference will also offer a rare opportunity for foreign observers to ask questions and get first-hand responses from key players in the government.
